Mount Mayon is an active volcano which rises to 2462m. Renowned for his perfect shape, he can be seen from any single corner in Bicol.
Local folkore refers to Bulkang Magayon « Beautiful Volcano », after the legendary heroine Daragang Magayon , « the beautiful lady »
This no sleeping beauty, is one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world and closely monitor by philvolcs, the national volcanoligst instute of the philippines. No later than 2006, 1500 bicolano lost their life in the slope of the volano due to lahar flow.

The best time to climb Mount Mayon will be between February to April. Climbing the Mount Mayon is highly depending of the weather condition and volcano activity.

Cagsawa Ruins is another popular destinations in Bicol. The ruins are the remnants of an 18th century Fransiscan Church, built in 1724. Twelve hundred people who took refuge there during 1814's violent eruption were buried alive. After the eruption, a new church was erected on hill overlooking the area, Daraga Church.
